Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Director to lead and structure our accounting team as we prepare for significant growth and expansion. He will be joining the strong team already in place, with the main goal of structuring its activities and preparing it for the future.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of navigating similar growth phases, building high-performing teams, and managing complexity in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

    • Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of three accountants.
    • Formalize, and when necessary adjust, roles, responsibilities, and processes to ensure the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Compliance and Financial Reporting:

    • Ensure adherence to international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and local regulations in all operating countries.
    • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and successful audits.

Consolidation and Taxes:

    • Manage the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
    • Ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
    • Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

ERP Implementation:

    • Act as the accounting lead for the successful implementation of a new ERP system.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize workflows.
    • Ensure the system meets current and future accounting and reporting requirements.

Scalability and Process Optimization:

    • Evaluate, refine, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalability and operational efficiency.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls.
    • Drive automation and innovation in accounting processes.

Sales Administration and Billing:

    • Oversee the administration of sales contracts and ensure accurate invoicing processes.
    • Implement controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of billing and revenue recognition.
    • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve processes.

Strategic Partnership:

    • Collaborate with the CFO and other leadership team members to align accounting strategies with business objectives.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.
    • Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes.

In order to be considered for this position you must imperatively respond to the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of [8-10] years of progressive accounting experience, with at least [3-5] years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in scaling accounting operations during periods of rapid growth, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and multi-country compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading ERP implementations and optimizing financial systems.
  • Experience in consolidation is a plus.
  • Experience in tax management is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Fluent in English and in French

Important: You must possess an employment status: French or Schengen area nationality or a ‘carte de séjour’ that will allow you to work from our Paris office.
