Within the Finance Department, the “Financial Accounting” department is responsible for accounting control missions and the production of financial reports and tax reports both in accordance with French and IFRS standards. The team in France works in close partnership with the finance teams in Poland and India on the HBCE scope which covers the branches in Europe and various subsidiaries.

The main contacts are the different teams within Finance, the Tax Affairs Department, the Management Control Department, the Group Tax Reporting team.

Within the Finance Department, the “Financial Accounting” department is responsible for accounting control missions and the production of financial reports and tax reports both in accordance with French and IFRS standards. The team in France works in close partnership with the finance teams in Poland and India on the HBCE scope which covers the branches in Europe and the various subsidiaries.

What you’re going to do:

Within the Finance Tax reporting team, the monthly workstreams are the establishment of monthly tax reports, the production of the tax package for the different entities in the scope, the calculation of local taxes and the projection of tax results in close collaboration with management control over the different entities.
It also involves participating in the various impact analysis as part of all reporting requested by the group or the regulator.

The role will also consist of actively participating in the bank’s strategic projects, from the perspective of tax accounting processes, improving procedures and various team development projects. The role gives a global vision on the various subjects of the bank, such as compliance, consolidation, and taxation.
To successfully carry out tax reporting missions, it is important to emphasize that working with the teams of the Tax Department and the accounting teams is key.

The purpose of the role is to support the Head of Tax Reporting, HBCE in the indirect and direct tax related projects and supports the submission of the returns/declarations to tax authorities. It supports the Group and Regional Tax reporting processes.
The role holder will also help in the external and internal audits by providing requisite information as required. Ad hoc support will also be required on other HBCE and group-wide projects.
Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Managing the tax-related migration of the ledger and implementation to a new reporting system as well as all other integration and migration projects. Leading the implementation of the strategic decision of migration of production activities to KPMG for low to medium tasks.
  • Playing Integral role in ongoing process design and development, with the use of technology to improve efficiency and reduce risk Preparation of the Annual tax returns as per the instruction of the DAF team and support on other tasks Developing an in depth understanding of technical accounting and reporting requirements, covering P&L, On and Off-Balance Sheet.
  • Building cordial relations with Stakeholders including External by promptly responding on queries and attending all meetings or workshops and sharing relevant information as needed. Understanding complex systems and data flows between systems.


Conditions

Apply if you feel you match these skills:
  • Qualified accountant or master’s degree in finance and either Chartered Tax Adviser or considerable experience of corporate tax.
  • Considerable experience of corporate tax.
  • Strong IFRS and FRENCHGAAP accounting knowledge, including application of IAS 34 Interim.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, including the ability to explain complex issues succinctly to people who are not tax experts.
  • Ability to identify the need for, and drive, process change (including the use of new technology).
  • Ability to work well within a team and to manage.
  • Competing deliverables within tight timelines.
  • Experience in medium size company, preferably a Bank.
  • Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. financial, regulatory reporting experience required.
  • Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls over Reporting processes.
  • Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel with skill in handing and controlling operational data and complex data sets.
  • French Language and preferable English Language skills.
