Your mission:
In line with the BU's strategy, define and implement the R&D and innovation strategy of Fermentis on a global scale and tactically manage a portfolio of numerous research programs and projects.
Manage a team of R&D project managers (currently 8 permanent contracts, 1 fixed-term contract) spread across all business areas.
Provide technical, quality and regulatory support for Fermentis products in collaboration with the relevant teams.
Collaborate with Fermentis' internal teams (marketing, sales, supply chain, etc.) and the Lesaffre group (LIST, LO, GRAD, etc.); and the many external partners (universities, institutes, laboratories, etc.) as part of project management.
Establish and monitor R&D budgets in line with the overall strategy.
Actively participate in internal and external R&D communication (conferences, symposia, etc.).
As a member of the BU's management committee, actively participate in its work, particularly in the development of the BU's overall strategy and in the governance of its activities.
Your profile:
Doctorate or post-doctorate in food science, agricultural engineer, bio-engineer or chemist or equivalent, complemented by: Minimum 15 years of R&D experience in the food industry, with expertise in fermentation (beer, wine, spirits, etc.)
Very good knowledge of Biology, Microbiology, Genetics and Biotechnology,
An expressed passion for the agri-food world, partly beverages,
Structured, analytical, synthetic,
A manager with both vision and attention to detail,
Entrepreneur and pioneer,
Bilingual French-English, knowledge of other languages is an asset,
Generous, transparent and good communication skills,
Leadership qualities, ability to unite, adaptability and synthesis,
Sense of organization, profitability and results,
Mastery of office and collaborative tools (Office 365, Teams, Smartsheet, etc.).
