Their story
Created in 2011, today over 7 million people in France have the Lydia app on their phone.
Starting in 2013, it became very popular with young people, who use it to transfer money between themselves, and then quickly became a social phenomenon, thanks in particular to the expression “je te fais un Lydia” (“I'll send you a Lydia”).
In 2017, it became possible to pay everywhere with Lydia on Apple Pay! It was after this event, in 2020, that the French Tech 120 label was awarded.
Events then follow in quick succession as Lydia completes its first fundraising round of €40 million. In the same year, the application diversifies into banking packages.
The year 2021 was also a milestone, as just after the launch of its interest-bearing savings offer, Lydia raised even more funds than the previous one, thus achieving unicorn status.
