The Risk Placement team aims to find the most optimal placement solutions and ensure the renewal while maximizing the margin. This team looks after finding carriers (insurers & reinsurers), building the relationship with them, placing the insurance products, reporting to them, optimizing our margin & reducing our capital requirement, and innovating on our offer to improve trust with carriers.
This key role involves identifying and partnering with carriers, including insurers and reinsurers, to place insurance programs co-designed with our brokerage partners. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining strong relationships with these carriers, optimizing margins, reducing capital requirements, and enhancing trust through innovative offerings. The Senior Risk Placement Manager will collaborate closely with the Pricing and Acquisition team as well as the Client Performance team during pitches to bring the right skills to meet the needs of risk carriers.
With that in mind, you’ll:
Expand our network: Increase our pool of carrier partners to facilitate the placement of insurance programs in the future. This also includes identifying potential new international partners.
Develop relationship and engage network: Establish and maintain solid and enduring relationships with risk carriers. This involves regular communication, understanding their needs and expectations, and ensuring Seyna remains a preferred partner.
Place effective program: Ensure the placement of insurance programs aligns with Seyna’s margin goals within designated timelines.
Manage contract renewal and margin enhancement: Manage the annual renewal of contracts and renegotiate financial terms to maximize margins while optimizing Seyna’s own funds.
Ensure quality of service: Ensure that carriers receive all necessary documentation timely and accurately, including monthly reporting, reinsurance accounts, and cash flows. Work closely with internal teams to ensure that all placement and monitoring activities are aligned with operational needs and standards.
Enhance partner value proposition: Identify initiatives to enhance the value provided to carriers, develop a strategic roadmap for implementation, and oversee its execution. Continuously innovate by proposing new models and solutions that can further distinguish and enhance Seyna’s offerings
You have an extensive understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industries, including various insurance products and their placement processes.
You can analyze financial and actuarial data, and understand profit margins, especially for placement and repricing negotiation.
You can blend persuasive sales techniques with a deep understanding of technical insurance elements.
You are skilled in identifying problems, analyzing potential solutions, and implementing effective resolutions on time, ensuring the smooth operation of risk placement activities.
You can lead projects and collaborate effectively across different teams to drive successful outcomes.
You demonstrate proficiency in preparing detailed reports, interpreting contract documents, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
You have effective communication skills, both in French and English (verbal and written) and excel in establishing and maintaining productive relationships, fostering collaboration and trust with carriers.
