Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing  €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Leading the Applications team as a Senior Manager - Quantum Algorithm Applications, you will strategically define goals that drive company success, maintain scientific integrity and ethical standards.

Your primary responsibility will be to balance application areas, considering current research, team capabilities, and company priorities. This includes setting clear objectives, managing resources within budget, upholding ethical standards, and consulting with experts.

You will also provide critical guidance to the Business & Revenue department, contributing to a sound product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Applications’ team strategy by working closely with quantum algorithms experts to align their expertise with business requirements.
  • Oversee team projects, ensuring objectives are met on time.
  • Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage team resources to achieve team objectives and support department goals.
  • Foster a supportive environment for team development and career growth.
  • Collaborate with the Business teams to contribute to shaping the company’s roadmap with an applications-oriented mindset.
  • Manage external collaborations, both with Alice & Bob’s clients and research partners.
  • Represent the company at conferences and workshops focused on quantum computing applications.
  • Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in managing a research team in quantum computing
  • Proven track record of leading teams that consistently deliver complex projects on time
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • PhD in Quantum Computing, preferably Quantum Algorithms or related fields (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics). Candidates with 3+ years of equivalent research experience in the quantum computing industry will also be considered.
