As an Internal Audit Manager (German market) you will become the first member of our newly established Internal Audit team and play a pivotal role in shaping Qonto’s audit processes, ensuring robust oversight of our operations both locally in Germany and across centralised processes.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As an Internal Audit Manager (German market) at Qonto, you will:

Lead audit missions: Lead audit initiatives for our German Branch, Qonto’s second biggest market, collaborating with our local provider to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations;

Participate in centralised process audits: Participate in audit missions focused on centralised processes from our headquarters (fraud management, operational risks, …);

Follow-up on recommendations : Ensure timely implementation and monitoring of audit recommendations;

Participate in local governance: Engage in local governance activities for the German Branch, including the Risk Committee with local stakeholders, risk reporting or authorities meetings;

Conduct annual risk assessment: Assist the Head of Internal Audit in conducting the annual risk assessment for the German Branch.

🤝 About your future manager

Her background? Catherine joined Qonto in March 2024, bringing over 12 years of experience in the banking sector, with a strong focus on retail and corporate banking and payment services. Throughout her career, she has held diverse roles in sales, internal audit, and risk management. At Qonto, she was recruited to establish the company's internal audit function, laying a solid foundation to support Qonto's safe and sustainable growth.

What does she bring to the team? Passionate about her work, Catherine brings a positive perspective to the role of internal audit at Qonto, focusing on continuous improvement and safeguarding the group's interests. As an experienced manager, she will support you with care and guidance to succeed in your role and advance within Qonto.

🏅 About You

Expertise in Internal Audit: Demonstrated expertise in internal audit practices (CIA certificate would be a plus);

Strong Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of German compliance regulations, particularly AML (ACAMS certificate would be a plus);

Banking or Payment Institution Experience: Proven experience in the banking sector or with payment institutions;

Language Skills: Native level or bilingual in German, fluent in English;

Autonomous and Proactive: Capable of working independently and taking initiative in conducting audit missions, and leading local provider;

Clear Communicator: You excel at conveying audit findings clearly and effectively, whether in writing or verbally, to audiences ranging from operational staff to branch management;

Critically Independent: You have a strong critical thinking ability that allows you to identify inefficiencies and discrepancies independently. You confidently maintain your positions and can persuade others of your insights and recommendations;

Discreet and Trustworthy: You handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining trust within the organization.
