The head office of AXA Group (GIE AXA), based in La Défense Majunga, gathers the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities according to the Group's strategy and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters is composed with over 850 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities).

In this context, the “Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations Intern” will have the opportunity to work within the Group Corporate Development (GCD) department and the Investor Relations Department, gaining exposure to both corporate strategy and financial market interactions.

Department

The Group Corporate Development (GCD), Group Strategy department is responsible for:

  • Supporting the top management (Group CEO & Management Committee) in the definition and implementation of the Group Strategy
  • Conduct the strategic dialogue between the Group and the entities
  • First screening of potential M&A targets to assess their fit with AXA’s strategy
  • Ad-hoc strategic studies at the request of the top management and the AXA S.A Board of Directors

The Investor Relations Department is part of the AXA Group’s central functions. 

  • In liaison with Senior Management, the team manages the interactions with institutional financial market participants (investors, financial analysts and rating agencies) and explain all aspects of AXA’s strategy, financial performance as well as M&A and financing operations.

Role and Responsibilities:

The corporate strategy and investor relation intern will work on several projects during his/her internship, under the direct supervision of a project manager. His/Her activities will be the following:

  • Conduct internal and external data gathering on the market, competition, and AXA
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis including market sizing and business planning
  • Participate in the execution of the strategy and implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Formalize recommendations for the top management
  • Support the preparation of documents related to the Group's performance and strategy for the analyst and investor communities
  • Identify and analyze the major strategic priorities of AXA's main competitors
  • Analyze peers' financial disclosures and major strategic announcements
  • Produce a weekly report on the sector (market analysis of AXA and competitors) distributed to top AXA executives
  • Monitor analyst publications on AXA and the insurance industry
  • Analyze earnings forecasts and valuation drivers
  • Analyze rating methodologies and identify key rating drivers for AXA from rating agencies (S&P, Moody's, Fitch, AM Best)
  • Contribute to the preparation of documents related to the Group's performance and strategy, presented by the Senior Management of the Group and intended for the analyst and investor communities

This combined role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities related to corporate strategy, financial analysis, and providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making and communication with external stakeholders.

Profil recherché

Profile Requirements:

Master 2 level students, graduates and/or MBA with strong analytical and strategic skills

At least 6 months experience in finance (M&A, PE, VC), consulting, and/or strategy, ideally in a financial services firm

Key requirements for the position are the following

  • Autonomy / ownership in his/her work
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Good understanding of Corporate Finance and Strategy topics
  • Ability to articulate strategical insights
  • Capable of working and collaborating with a virtual team, across multiple diverse geographies and cultures (from various seniority)
  • Perfectly fluent in English (written & spoken)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Rigorous, proactive and eager to learn about insurance
  • Proficient use of Excel and PowerPoint, with an understanding of Bloomberg preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to “step back” and have a big picture view
  • Highly motivated to work within AXA Group and become part of a dynamic teams (Investor relation and Group Strategy Teams)
