The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Within the Group, you will join the Group Underwriting Office (GUO).

Within this Department, you will be part of the Short Tail Underwriting Team.

GUO department is responsible for: - Steering and controlling a sustainable and profitable growth of AXA P&C activities worldwide, promoting excellence on both risk management and technical areas. This encompasses underwriting governance and rules, PAP (Product approval Process), PMP (Portfolio Management Process), and requires strong and tight cooperation with claims management, reserving, cat modeling and reinsurance cover. 

a. Initiate or promote innovative insurance solutions optimizing Natural Events exposures in all Lines of businesses exposed: Property, Construction, Energy, Motor ... 

b. Support underwriting initiatives on structured solutions and/or use of new technologies and Artificial Intelligence on underwriting process.

c. Initiate or promote innovative insurance solutions supporting Construction adaptation to climate change. 

Within GUO department, P&C Short Tail Commercial Lines team is referent for underwriting for commercial lines: Property, Construction, Marine, Aviation, Niche specialties. Group exposures amount to ~ €6 Trillion (insured values).

Your job and daily missions:

With the Head of P&C Short Tail and the Head of Natural Events underwriting, you will support the portfolio analysis of various AXA entities to bring them additional insights in the composition of their Natural Catastrophe risks in a perspective of improving their diversification.

The different steps are:

· Analyze the Natural Events modelled risk distributions (e.g. OEP, AEP) from AXA Internal Model at various levels (business segments/products type, geographical zones)

· Identify segments or areas that could be developed or reduced to optimize diversification

· Present the results of the analysis to local teams (e.g. Underwriting, Risk Management) and discuss with them relevant underwriting actions

Profil recherché

Let’s talk about you:

Main skills: 

· Quantitative background (actuarial, statistics, mathematics, data science…) and good analytical skills

· Interest in Natural Catastrophe and/or insurance/risk management

· Synthesis spirit, able to catch main ideas and to organize and summarize information

· Very good oral and writing skills in English and French 

· Strong IT skills: Excel, R or Python, Power Point, Word

· At ease in a multi-cultural working environment

· Strong team player, including capacity to work in transversal teams with other departments and external stakeholders · Dynamism, reactivity, commitment Education: Master’s degree with a quantitative background (e.g. engineering or actuarial school)
