Are you passionate about improving livelihoods for smallholder farmers while preserving natural resources? Join Livelihoods Venture in driving nature-based solutions to improve lives and ecosystems worldwide!

Our client

Since 2011, Livelihoods Venture has been working with rural communities worldwide to restore ecosystems and promote sustainable farming practices, improving livelihoods while enhancing biodiversity, soil health, and carbon sequestration. At Livelihoods Venture, we manage two types of impact-driven businesses: carbon beyond the value chain and sustainable sourcing within the value chain (www.livelihoods.eu). Each project connects us with thousands of smallholder farmers for up to 20 years, working alongside exceptional local organizations and building strong coalitions between corporations, brands, local suppliers, and NGOs. Today, nearly 30 projects have been funded, including ecosystem restoration (mangroves), agroforestry, rural energy and agriculture.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Carbon Impact Officer based in Paris with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience. Reporting to the Head of Carbon, you will support Project Managers globally in designing and implementing high-quality projects that promote sustainable farming, engage local communities, and restore ecosystems. This role is key in ensuring impact reporting and requires a collaborative mindset to engage both internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Key responsibilities include managing carbon offset certification and overseeing the following areas:

  1. Carbon impact modelling: whether it is a rural energy or a nature-based project, you will perform ex-ante carbon sequestration / removal assessments that will inform our investments.

  2. Carbon offset certification: ensure all carbon projects meet certification prerequisites, including listing, registration, PDD drafting, monitoring, and managing auditor visits.

  3. Coaching Project Managers and implementing partners: provide guidance to Project Managers and implementing partners on carbon processes to ensure they meet carbon goals.

  4. Innovation & market intelligence: stay updated on trends in voluntary carbon markets, helping the company navigate changes and adopt new technologies and methodologies.

  5. Stakeholder relationship management: manage relationships with key stakeholders (offset standards, carbon consultants, NGOs) to foster strong partnerships.

  6. Continuous improvement: proactively propose solutions and ideas to improve internal processes and organizational performance.
