The role

As a Mid-Senior DevOps Engineer at Predict4Health, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our robust and scalable infrastructure. You'll be deeply involved in our ongoing migration projects to GitHub Actions and GCP Cloud, modernizing our workflows and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in enabling seamless development, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and high availability of our systems. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, QA, and product managers, you will contribute to enhancing our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact the development of life-changing healthcare technology and be at the forefront of predictive diagnostics. You'll have the chance to leverage your expertise in modern DevOps practices to help us build and maintain a cutting-edge infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-availability infrastructure in GCP Cloud
  • Lead and contribute to migration projects, transitioning existing systems to GitHub Actions and GCP Cloud
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines within GitHub Actions
  • Monitor and optimize system performance in the GCP environment
  • Automate repetitive tasks to enhance operational efficiency
  • Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation for GCP
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams on application development workflows
  • Maintain and enhance system security through best practices and regular assessments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues within GCP
  • Document infrastructure designs, processes, and workflows

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with GCP experience
  • Strong expertise with GCP Cloud Platform services:
    • Compute Engine
    • Kubernetes Engine
    • Cloud Storage
    • Other relevant services
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration:
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes (GCP-specific)
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Knowledge of GCP monitoring and logging tools:
    • Cloud Monitoring
    • Cloud Logging
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts:
    • DNS
    • Load balancing
    • Firewalls

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in MedTech or regulated environment (HIPAA, GDPR compliance)
  • Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification on GCP
  • Database administration knowledge:
    • PostgreSQL
    • MySQL
    • GCP Cloud SQL
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools:
    • Ansible
    • Chef
    • Puppet
  • Passion for healthcare technology and improving patient outcome
