Head of Marketing Insights (f/m/d)

Position Overview

As the Head of Marketing Insights (f/m/d), you will build and lead Decathlon’s team that will focus on Marketing Insights. This role will sit within the newly-created Global Insights & Foresights team, which is elevating the role and impact of insights on a global level within the company. The Head of Marketing Insights has the opportunity to set the direction and vision, lay the foundation to create impact on a global and regional level. This includes defining how Insights impact Marketing on a strategic level (annual, seasonal, campaign etc), putting in place new capabilities that help measure the impact of Marketing to improve and help upskill our broader Marketing community both within Global and with the Marketing leaders in the countries. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Marketing Insights team: Lead the current members of the Marketing Insights team. Recruit and build the critical roles for the remainder of the team. 
  • Drive Marketing Insights integration into Marketing organization: Partner with Global Marketing to define how Insights plays a strategic role into the annual, seasonal development. Define which areas to focus on in what priority order (i.e starting with Marketing measurement) to drive impact. Deliver value-added insights that impact Marketing end-to-end on campaign - from campaign briefing to marketing measurement. 
  • Establish Key Marketing Insight Capabilities: Create the foundation for Marketing Insights - establish a measurement framework and execute with key partners inclusive of Brand Health Tracking, Marketing Mix Modeling, Campaign Measurement (pre, post), Social Listening insights into marketing processes. All to drive business impact and improvement, plus mindset of continual improvement and learning within Decathlon.
  • Champion and Bring Innovation: Bring new capabilities to the team and the organization, as needed to further Marketing Insights and further advance Decathlon’s capabilities in this space, always fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with a collaborative mindset across United Marketing, Country Marketing teams and beyond given the setup of the organization.
  • Upskill Marketing Teammates: Bring expertise to the organization to drive upskilling in areas where Decathlon can benefit from external and / or new thinking.
  • Team development: Coach and develop the Marketing Insights team.

Preferred background

  • Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in leading and building high-performing marketing insights teams in a global organization. 
  • Preferred expertise: Previous experience working with Marketing and within Marketing measurement capabilities - MMM, campaign measurement, social listening tools.
  • Business driven: Business-oriented leader who has successfully driven clear business impact as a result of insights & actions.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills. Act as a thought leader within Decathlon, presenting insights to senior leadership and sharing knowledge across the organization.
  • Relationship & Influencing: Successful experience of establishing strong relationships between executives and cross-functional teams within the organization. Able to thrive in environments of strong transformation, scaling and acceleration, with gaps of maturity in people, organization, processes. Experience in building projects, processes, and governance from scratch.

This role is based either in Amsterdam or Lille with 2 days per week of home office. Regular traveling between both hubs is expected.
