Our Center of Excellence, dedicated to AI research and development, is offering internship opportunities in data science to contribute to the development of a Contextual GenAI Model for the search engine of our Decathlon e-commerce sites. An exciting project that enhances the e-commerce experience for our customers, directly impacting their satisfaction!

As a Technical Research Intern in GenAI, you will work on LLMs to explore and develop fundamental techniques for understanding long contexts.

Your mission:

• Explore how to extend fixed-context LLMs to infinite-context LLMs.
• Evaluate performance using standard metrics (needle in haystack, multihop reasoning path) and develop custom metrics tailored to Decathlon’s needs.
• Conduct research on topics such as LLM context extension.

Your technical skills:

• Understanding of LLM training with different loss functions (Cross-Entropy, PPO, DPO, GRPO).
• Knowledge of various architectures, tokenizers, and chat templates.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and associated packages.
• Ability to read and understand research papers.
• A research background is preferred (Master’s in AI, PhD).
• You must communicate fluently and effectively in English on all work-related topics, especially when sharing research results.
• Proficiency in French is a must-have, as you will contribute to the creation of multilingual models for the French and international markets.
