Decathlon Digital is looking for a Senior Analytics/Data Engineer to join the Ecommerce team in Amsterdam, Lille or Paris.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data models and pipelines to support business intelligence and analytical needs. 

This role involves working closely with data analysts, BI-engineers and stakeholders to ensure data is well-structured, scalable, and efficient, as well as ensuring the reliability and performance of data infrastructure. 

The ideal candidate has a strong background in data modelling, optimization, testing, documentation, workflow automation and making architecture decisions. Experience with Gen-AI tools application in data engineering is highly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve Ecomm data. Optimize and maintain data pipelines for efficiency and reliability.
  • Oversee and manage data architecture in ecom domain, ensuring it aligns with business requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of the Ecomm data strategy by defining data architecture strategies, establishing best practices, and setting standards.\
  • Translate functional business requirements into actionable insights by leveraging a deep understanding of e-commerce source data.
  • Review and challenge proposals for table creation, ensuring data integrity and optimal table design.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the data architecture supports business objectives.
  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and BI developers to design, implement, and optimize data models in Databricks using DBT.
  • Ensure proper data governance and security standards are maintained.
  • Document model lineage, transformations, and system dependencies
  • Develop and manage Airflow schedules, ensuring appropriate frequency and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with Decathlon GenAI community and drive initiatives to implement GenAi solutions for the data engineering practice in the Ecom domain and across the company

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in SQL, DBT, and Python for data modelling and transformations.
  • Solid Experience with data warehouse solutions (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Knowledge of Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques
  •  Experience with testing frameworks and monitoring tools for data quality.
  • Proven experience in data modelling, ETL/ELT development, and analytics engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in designing scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data infrastructure and cloud-based data processing
  • Knowledge of Digital Analytics tools (GA, Amplitude) and experience with building BI reports (in Tableau or other tools) is highly preferred
