Your Role at Echo
At Echo, you’ll join a dynamic team of over 20 data enthusiasts passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation.
We seek for a motivated Senior Data Engineer to become our main technical point of contact on Data Engineering topics. You’ll work alongside talented Data Analysts and ML engineers, developing robust pipelines, designing efficient data systems, and challenging our existing processes to improve the way we process our datasets.
As such, your main responsibilities will be
- 📊 Design & develop scalable geospatial data pipelines to process billions of data points efficiently
- 🚀 Own our data engineering stack—improving ingestion, processing, and storage strategies.
- 🔍 Monitor & optimize workflows with Datadog, and CI/CD tools to ensure reliability and performance.
- 💡 Collaborate with product & sales teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
- 🔧 Ensure best practices in architecture, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvement.
- 🎯 Proactively contribute to strategic projects, challenge existing systems, and drive innovation.
- 👨👩👦 Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to spread good practices and data mastery companywide

What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Fluency in English - French is a plus
- Experience with large-scale data – handling TBs of unstructured data from different sources motivates you.
- Expertise in Python & SQL – you write clean, efficient, and scalable code.
- Apache Airflow & GCP expertise – you know how to build robust, cloud-based data systems and pipelines
- Pipeline management - You’re comfortable with Infra-as-code and CI/CD pipelines - including tests
- Proactive mindset – you own what you build and don’t wait to be told what to do.
- Comfortable working across teams – you can talk data with engineers and translate it for business teams.
Bonus points if :
- You have experience building data science / ML pipelines in a GCP environment
