Job Description

Internal audit is one of the 4 key functions defined by the Solvency 2 Directive. Reporting directly to General Management, internal audit ensures the management of the company's risks. Management is organized around a CoDir (Director, managers) and the Audit team (Audit leader and auditors). Based on its autonomy and its ability to adapt, the auditor takes part in audit activities in accordance with the Group's audit methodology:

  • Based on a risk assessment, participation in the development of the audit plan
  • Execution of the audit plan with performance of audit engagements in an international context
  • Monitoring of remediation plans sent as part of audits
  • Privileged link with the Departments of the entrusted scope, the audit leader participates in the implementation of a real business partnering relationship and the influence of the audit among the governance bodies
  • Participation in the life of the Department through transversal projects (implementation of data analytics, methodological review, training plan, etc.)


Under the supervision of the audit leader and / or manager, the auditor and is in charge of:

1 – Delivery of the Audit Plan

  • Participates and / or conduct interviews with auditees
  • Conduct audit testing for the area in scope
  • Analyzes internal control procedures, documentation and evidence provided by auditees
  • Proposes remedial action to correct issues identified during the audit engagement
  • Participates to the drafting of the audit deliverables
  • Data analytics: perform analyses using data mining software, such as IDEA.
  • Participates / Conducts interviews and meetings.
  • Ensure data quality and timely information recording in the audit system, in line with the Group audit methodology.

2 – Monitoring of remedial actions defined

  • Monitor the implementation of remedial actions defined by auditees and helping them when needed
  • Evaluate the relevance of the evidence received during the issue follow up process and gain the needed information while keeping a collaborative and positive relationship with the business

3 – Participate to the risk assessment within the audit plan process

  • Contribute to risk assessment for processes in her/his perimeter
  • Contribute to the elaboration of audit plan in her/his perimeter.

4 – Participate in operational projects for the Internal Audit department

  • Bring his contribution to cross-functional projects as validated with his line manager (local working groups: preparation of the audit plan, coordination with control functions, etc.)
  • Participate in reporting to the Generali Group Head Office.
  • Working groups with the Generali Audit teams.
  • Regular exchanges with auditors from other countries of the Generali Group
  • On Generali Group thematic audits:
    • Contributes to regular calls with the Group
    • Takes part in the development of the audit program

Preferred Experience

MSC or MBA degree from Business school including Insurance and/or Finance skills

English (Professional or fluent)

At least 2 years' experience in a similar position in an international organization or audit firm.

Audit skills:

    • Knowledge and ability to evaluate and enhance internal control processes and capability of performing risk assessment and execute audits. Familiarity with application of audit tools and processes. Strong knowledge of Audit methodology
    • Ability to understand the main functions of Insurance and to discuss with the different departments on various issues
    • Good written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to present and explain complex information and suggest process improvements to diverse audiences including managers.

    Additional requirements:

    • Good knowledge of computer work and advanced command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access)
    • Curious, organized, autonomous, meticulous, good interpersonal skills

    Nice to have:

    • Knowledge of the Insurance sector (processes, practices, tools etc.) and the regulatory environment (Solvency II, GDPR, etc.)
    • A good knowledge of Data Analytics methods is an advantage.
    • Professional certification (CIA, etc.) is an advantage.
