Chief Data Officer:
Reporting to the Group COO, the Chief Data Officer will be responsible for the Data management and data strategy of the group, with a key focus to deliver the central data repository and associated reportings.
To do so, he or she will be in direct contact with a broad range of stakeholders within Europ Assistance Group (Centrally and in Business Units – Business Lines, Insurance, Finance, Actuarial)
He/She will also drive the IT developments related to the global repository, in coordination with the IT rep, and be a key contributor to the central tools developments on topics related to data and reporting
Responsibilities:
Data management strategy :
Develop and lead the company’s data management strategy, from identifying key data sources (golden sources) to generating reports.
This includes data consolidation, Enterprise Data Models, and aligning local and global data strategies (local datamarts vs global ones, etc)
i) Identify and validate (with countries support) key applications per country that contain relevant business data (e.g., Financials, underwriting, actuarial, operational)
ii) Ensure standardization of data ingestion and consolidation in global datamart (IDEA) to drive business decisions both locally and centrally
iii) Develop agreed and standardized Enterprise Data Models (EDM) to align globally the definition of data
iv) Define reports to be produced in PowerBI to help the business drive growth
Data governance :
Ensure the quality, reliability and normalization of data in IT global and local core insurance systems (e.g., iCompass, SCALA, CoreDRSA, Phoenix, Medallia, Caesar) in collaboration with local teams. Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Drive IT to ensure timely deployment of solutions :
Act as the primary point of contact for data-related topics with IT. Ensure timely deployment of data solutions to meet business needs. Animate the community toensure share of best practices, skills enhancements andoperations, providing support and follow-up to countries in theirimplementation and optimization efforts
Team management and recruitment :
Recruit and build a team of data scientists in the long run to address the growing needs of data analysis across business lines
Data Security and Privacy :
Prioritize data security and privacy by implementing robust data protection measures and ensuring compliance with regulations, such as GDPR and PII rules, in coordination with the DPO
Master degree from a in engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or Actuarial Science
Perfect command of English (in written & in spoken)
15+ years in a similar position in an international organization
Proven track record in developing centralized data repositories in major corporations, particularly in an international environment
Strong technical background in database and data management, including proficiency in Python, SAS, SQL, ETL (Glue, Talend), Hadoop, S3, and Power BI
Hands-on and delivery-driven approach
