🎯 Key aspects of the role:

  • Ensuring that potential clients receive the most compelling and well-structured proposals that the agency / Group can offer, both in terms of content and design
  • Crafting the right narrative to communicate the agency's value proposition and capabilities effectively.
  • Streamlining the pitch process to be efficient and well-organized, avoiding unnecessary stress and disorganization.
  • Engaging and challenging internal stakeholders to collectively deliver optimal solutions for prospects and clients.
  • Aiming to secure new business wins to expand the client portfolio and reinforce the agency's growth-oriented culture.
  • Collaborating closely with the global headquarters in London to align strategies and optimize the agency's approach to new business opportunities.
  • The New Business Director is expected to be a driving force within the Group, not only leading by example but also by actively participating in the creation and delivery of winning pitches. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of GroupM France and its agencies and for fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

 

REPORTING OF THE ROLE

The role reports to the Head of New Business and is critical to the Group’s growth, with the New Business Director playing a pivotal role in expanding the client portfolio and sustaining GroupM and its agencies growth mindset. The position offers the opportunity to work with a lively, hard-working, and fun team on a variety of industry-leading projects with significant exposure to senior leadership. The job emphasizes the importance of a positive atmosphere and the ability to lead effectively without the need for late-night rushes to meet deadlines.

 

Responsibilities of the role

  • New Business – project management
    • Project management of new business initiatives, ensuring adherence to processes, timelines, presentation deliverables, and budget constraints.
    • Coordination of various teams and disciplines involved in responding to pitches, from the initial brief to client feedback and presentations (strategy, analytics & insights, planning, client services, Media Solutions, top management),
  • Ownership of media responses and support throughout all pitches, maintaining close relationships with planning and client teams.
  • Leading the production of pitch materials, including decks and ad hoc content.
  • Ensuring high-quality presentation delivery, managing designers for pitch presentation aesthetics, and producing collateral materials.
  • Proposing innovations in media, tools, measurement, and reporting.
  • Monitoring the media market and prospecting for new opportunities.
  • Managing a team that includes a New Business Executive and an intern.

KEY REQUIREMENTS : 

The most important attributes we are recruiting this role on are energy, attitude and writing skills.

  • A strong desire to win and a thirst for experience.
  • Comfort with facing challenges and stepping out of comfort zone.
  • Significant experience in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of the media/marketing industry landscape, including media campaigns.
  • Energetic and dynamic leadership
  • Demonstrable project management skills and a natural ability for organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders.
  • A friendly and approachable manner with a flexible attitude to work, capable of building collaborative relationships across the business at all levels.
  • The ability to work autonomously while managing tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a relevant field.

🤝Recruitment Process:

🥇Interview with the recruitment team: A first interview by phone or video conference with a member of our Talent team. This will allow us to better understand your skills and experience, and will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the position and the company.

🥈Operational interview: You will then meet with Guillaume Commenges, the Head of New Business, and possibly a second interview will be scheduled.

🥉Case study: A case study will be proposed to assess your technical skills related to the position. Feedback will be provided.
