We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy and Compliance Lawyer to take on the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO).

This position will be responsible for overseeing our data privacy policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks related to data protection.

As part of a six-person legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting Malt’s growth in France and abroad

Key responsibilities ✨

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, AI and other platform regulations (DSA, etc.), while acting as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  • Develop and implement privacy policies, risk assessments (DPIAs), and compliance frameworks to mitigate data protection risks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, internal teams, Fraud/Security team, and external stakeholders on data privacy and broader compliance matters.
  • Lead AI governance and compliance efforts, ensuring responsible and legal use of AI-driven technologies.
  • About you 🧑‍🚀

  • You hold a master’s degree in law, information technology, or compliance and experience in data privacy, compliance, and regulatory affairs, ideally in a technology-driven or digital platform environment.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of privacy regulations, particularly in relation to digital platforms (ideally AI governance), and global compliance frameworks.
  • You have experience in conducting privacy risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and advising on compliance controls across digital products and emerging technologies.
  • You have a track record of implementing compliance frameworks, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring adherence to data protection, AI, and fraud prevention policies.
  • You have experience in engaging with cross-functional business stakeholders, including security, fraud, engineering, and leadership teams, to align compliance with business objectives.
  • You are comfortable leading training and awareness programs on data privacy, AI compliance, and broader regulatory issues to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Fluency in French and English is required; a third European language is a plus.
