What you will do:

The successful candidate will support the implementation of the Risk and Compliance Transformation focusing on risks and controls, support the stewardship of Regulatory Reporting Risk (RRR), and financial risk analysis for Treasury Risk Management in Continental Europe.

  • Coordinates and executes risk and control reviews, results documentation, traceability exercises working with multiple programme teams and senior stakeholders.
  • The role will also collaborate to support risk management in capital risk, liquidity risk, IRRBB through various actions such as but not limited to regulatory rule interpretations and risks and controls assessments.
  • Supports the business and functions in assessing current state operating model and translating strategy into target operating models, architects complex, large-scale (e.g., multiple market/ multiple programme) change solutions, detailing all elements of the change journey and audience impacts
  • Defines, shapes, and recommends creative solutions options, weighing risk/reward, manages re-engineering of processes, where process is one of the many parts of the change, and provides detailed guidance on process design (considering risk, end-to-end and cost)
  • Manages responsibilities, objectives and task allocations for a large project or programme, develop a network of professional relationships (within
  • Transformation and with delivery partners) to improve collaborative working and encourage openness - sharing ideas, information, and collateral.
  • Owning the relationship with regional Control Owners and oversight of regional risks and controls processes, regulatory reporting controls, and contributing to strengthen the risk and controls framework
    Engaging, supporting, advising and challenging the first line-of-defence in carrying out their Treasury processes and activities for the countries and businesses within their remit.
  • Providing review and challenge by attending appropriate first line-of-defence governance forums.
  • Shaping, reviewing and challenging Risk & Control Assessments.
  • Ensuring Treasury control and reporting issues are addressed at the relevant Risk & Control Management Meetings.
  • Establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators, including reporting Management Information into relevant governance forums.
  • Providing Treasury input and support into wider policies and processes that impact risks and controls, reporting risk, and financial risk.


Conditions

You should apply if you have:
  • Exceptional drive, commitment and focus in operational excellence.
  • Treasury Risk Control knowledge and experience working across multiple legal entities.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment
  • Expert knowledge of compliance procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of HSBC’s activities, products, processes and systems.
  • Experience of working with Operational Risk, Internal and External Audit.
  • Excellent business writing, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Has developed a high level of professionalism and competency which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management.
  • Communication, the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business.
