About the role:
As QA Manager in the Cafeyn Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our digital products by leading a team of QA Analysts and Automation Engineers. Leveraging your strong technical background and experience as a former Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will design and implement robust testing strategies that encompass both manual and automated testing methods. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align quality objectives, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences by ensuring every release meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Lead and Manage QA Team: Oversee a diverse team of QA Analysts for manual testing and Automation Engineers for automated testing, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Develop QA Strategies: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA strategies, processes, and standards to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and product quality.
Hands-On Testing and Automation: Actively participate in testing activities, including creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts, while collaborating with team members to enhance test automation coverage and efficiency.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure alignment on quality objectives.
Establish and Monitor Quality Metrics: Define, track, and report on key quality metrics, such as defect rates, test coverage, and test case effectiveness, to ensure continuous improvement.
Drive Test Automation: Lead the adoption and integration of test automation tools and frameworks to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of testing processes.
Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential risks and quality issues early in the development cycle and collaborate with teams to mitigate them.
Manage Release Readiness: Ensure products meet quality standards and are ready for release by coordinating testing activities, managing defect triage, and approving final builds.
Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in QA, ensuring the team is utilising the most effective techniques.
Promote a Culture of Quality: Advocate for a quality-first mindset throughout the organisation, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and user satisfaction.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in QA roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity, and proven experience as a Lead QA Automation Engineer.
Technical Proficiency: Strong technical background with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing automated test frameworks
Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) and experience with test automation frameworks and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Manual and Automated Testing Expertise: In-depth understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience in leading and managing a team of QA Analysts and Automation Engineers, with strong mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to align on quality objectives and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with QA tools and technologies such as Jira, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in QA, with a continuous learning mindset.
