Join our Sourcing team as a Tech Sourcing Category Manager in the Global Category sourcing Team of L’Oréal.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Global category Team is counting as of today 24 people plus 12 externs covering all indirect domains (Retail, Marketing, IT, Business Services and of course Media & CMI). This team is gathering experienced professionals with either technical experience in their domain from the métier (often Agencies but also finance, legal…) and with people with a purchasing experience.

THE CONTEXT

One of our challenges with the Group digital transformation is to settle a new IT Support & strategy defined in a project called IT Transformation. In context of growth and numerous new challenges, we are expecting to reinforce the Global Sourcing team with one Category Manager who will support the ambitious projects of the Global Functions and Business Platforms hosted in Global IT organization.

The Global Category Manager will report operationally to Global IT Sourcing Director. In its operational role, he will work closely with the IT stakeholders for setting & negotiating WW contracts with our main WW suppliers under the coordination of Global IT Sourcing Director. He will also contribute to the development of the IT Category in various areas such as Sourcing strategy definition, supply base optimization, category reporting definition.

THE MISSION

You are responsible to develop the internal relationships with IT stakeholders with the aim to support their strategy definition, to deliver purchasing needs optimizing budget and costs and sustainability impacts.

Your role is covering key priorities as such:

  • Need analysis and demand management
  • Contributes to purchasing strategy
  • Optimizes costs and sustainability impacts
  • Contributes to supplier relationships
  • Operates in accordance with the principles of internal control and legal rules
  • Supports and manages the network of prescribers

In more depth
  • Anticipates major changes in needs. Offers optimal solutions involving internal and external network/resources. Incorporates VA methodology into the practice of expression of needs.
  • Carry out internal and external benchmarks
  • Lead negotiate & coordinate worldwide RFPs or negotiation
  • Implement and develop best in class practices
  • Maximizes the value creation opportunities that impact the P-L and the Top Line, and sustainability KPI’s. Activates all the levers in the value chain using ‘Cost models’. Promotes TCO initiatives. Captures break-up ideas from suppliers.
  • Captures innovation opportunities (external/internal sources).
  • Contributes to “best practices” and innovative cross-functional solutions, and out-of-domain sharing of Purchasing. Identify key internal projects where the category can add value.
  • Contributes to the category kits/toolboxes/methodologies definition.
  • Foster strategic suppliers and creates a ‘preferred customer’ relationship with them.
  • Foster Sustainability priorities with Suppliers.
  • Coordinate regional / local buyers to ensure correct implementation of the WW strategy and the WW contracts

You have relevant experience in IT Sourcing and purchasing area, in Worldwide roles and Worldwide companies, with main skills as:
