🔎Context of the role:
Within the Science team, you will apply data science techniques to provide additional fuel-saving opportunities to airlines. By joining us, you will directly help airlines to reduce their CO2 emissions.
As an Aviation Data Scientist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, customer needs, and translate them into data-driven solutions into our Skybreathe platform.
🏋️♂️Activities & Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze flight data, fuel consumption patterns, and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement in sustainable performance.
Algorithm Development: Develop, test, and implement algorithms to optimize flight operations, such as fuel efficiency models.
Fuel Efficiency Optimization: Create data-driven models to reduce fuel consumption by analyzing flight paths, weather data, aircraft performance, and operational procedures.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with Engineering, flight Product, and Customer Experience teams to implement data solutions effectively and meet the needs of end users.
Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Develop and maintain robust data cleaning and preprocessing pipelines to ensure data is accurate, complete, and ready for analysis.
Continuous Improvement: Stay curious and proactive in learning more about the aviation industry, and emerging data science technologies.
Examples of projects you might be able to work on:
Find new ways for airlines to save fuel by defining, and modeling fuel best practices for pilots
Design and implement robust algorithms to ensure adherence to environmentally friendly procedures
Smart insights helping our customers to dynamically identify improvements in their operations.

Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
First experience in data science or data analytics, preferably within the aviation industry.
Interest in aviation operations and the ability to quickly learn concepts such as fuel management, flight planning, and aircraft performance.
Proficiency in Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
Fluent in English and French
Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on understanding and addressing business challenges through data science.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
Familiarity with aviation data sources (e.g., flight data, weather data, aircraft performance data) and systems (e.g., Flight Management Systems) is preferred
