Orakl Oncology generates large volumes of genomic data (RNAseq, WGS etc.) on the cohort of PDO avatars that is generated internally. This data enables us to generate unique insights and provides Orakl with a unique edge in the ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Bioinformatician to be in charge of:
Building and maintaining omics processing pipelines: develop them and in collaboration with the data engineering team deploy them on our cloud infrastructure.
Computational and omics method development: develop new libraries and methods to characterise our PDO cohort and evaluate their real-world relevance.
Genomic and transcriptomic quality control: implement SOTA methods to detect experimental errors, guarantee high data quality standards on the platform.
Database accessibility: develop tools to allow internal researchers and outside partners to explore the data Orakl is producing.
You are expected to show a significant level of autonomy and will have ownership over the tasks mentioned above, and this position will be reporting to the Lead Computational Biologist.
MSC or PhD + 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
Strong programming skills: Python, Bash.
Experience with workflow automation and pipeline development (Nextflow, Snakemake).
Deep knowledge and expertise in using bioinformatics tools, particularly for genomics and transcriptomic data analysis.
Proficiency in version control systems.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services.
Ability to work in a deeply multi-disciplinary environment in contact with cell biologists, data scientists and clinicians.
Prior experience with variant calling/filtering in the context of cancer.
Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing and proteomics analysis.
HR Call (30 minute call) – An initial discussion to better understand your background, experiences, and motivations.
Technical Interview (45 minutes call) – A deep dive into your technical skills and expertise relevant to the role.
Technical Case (30 minutes presentation + discussion) – A case study or problem-solving exercise to assess your strategic thinking and analytical abilities. If possible this can be done in person.
Engineering Case (45-minutes presentation + discussion) – You will be presenting a piece of work you have previously worked on and which you are proud of. This will be in front of the relevant members of the Orakl Oncology team. If possible this can be done in person.
Founder Interview: As final step of our recruitment process, you will meet the founders of Orakl Oncology in person at our office. This meeting is an opportunity for the founders to assess cultural fit and ensure alignment with our company values.
