Job title: Global Category Buyer, Agencies

More recently, Sanofi announced in October 2023 its intention to separate its CHC business. Sanofi is reviewing potential separation scenarios but believes that the most likely path would be through a capital markets transaction, at the earliest in Q4 2024, and by creating a listed entity headquartered in France.

This position is responsible for the global procurement category of Agencies and Medical Communications for Opella. This role reports to the Global Category Head, Media/Agencies Procurement.

The key focus of this role is to create, support, and influence procurement category strategy for Global Agencies and Medical Communications initiatives, ideate and drive key projects jointly with the business, drive execution via global and regional teams to ensure Opella delivers its priorities/objectives. The role requires demonstrating strong partnering internally with growth hub leaders and regional content leads and externally with the global marketing and sales suppliers.

This mission is aligned with the values, the ethical charter, and the code of conduct of Opella.

Strategy

  • Development and execution of competitive, innovative long term procurement agency category strategies that are:

    • based on market intelligence: assessing risks and opportunities.

    • collaboratively built, full aligned with the business delivering cost reduction and significant value to business.

  • Drive the development of new market innovation opportunities (e.g. new suppliers, new digital tools in the categories).

Leadership

  • Create an integrated and effective marketing procurement network with the regional content buyers working towards common objectives ensuring the implementation of global strategies

  • Upskill marketing sourcing capabilities around digital, new technologies and external benchmarks.

Contract & Relationship Management

  • Oversee supplier relationship management and negotiations for strategic suppliers

  • Drive supplier innovation program for the category

  • Oversee KPIs and monitor supplier performance. Continuously drive for improvements in performance of the suppliers in all relevant areas of service level, costs, delivery, quality

Business Collaboration & Partnering

  • Business partner role to the Growth hub and support/guide Regional Category content buyers in partnering with the regional stakeholders

  • Partner with the sustainability team to build a plan to deliver against B-Corp commitments

  • Facilitate and build collaborative Business Partnering across the Business Unit internally and across the supplier network for the category

A degree in business Finance, Procurement/ Business Operations, Marketing.

  • A strong understanding of marketing/agencies

  • Hands-on experience in delivering savings initiatives with demand management levers

  • Strong capability to manage business and interact with internal stakeholders, Suppliers, and managing a complex environment

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • The ability to hit the ground running, operate autonomously with a high level of drive and energy

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
