As Modelling Lead within our Global Health Economics & Value Assessment team, you’ll help find new, and innovative ways to demonstrate the value of our medicines to payers, providers and patients.

This role reports to the Head of HEVA and works as part of HEVA department of the General Medicines Global Market Access team, developing the evidence to demonstrate the value of our medicines to our internal and external stakeholders. 

The HEVA team has a wealth of experience in Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Health Economic Modelling and Real Word Evidence (RWE) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and is part of a wider community of HEOR-specialists, and is a great place to develop your career.Main responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to specify and design industry-leading economic and disease models to enhance our understanding of disease and to quantify and communicate the value of our products to patients, providers, and payers
  • Develop and implement Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and Budget Impact models using appropriate tools including Excel and R (utilize relevant R packages such as heemod, BCEA, and dampack as appropriate)
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses using software such as R, SAS, or STATA. Interpret and present findings 
  • Provide expert statistical guidance for study design and conduct advanced statistical analysis of existing data 
  • Provide guidance and support to local country teams with respect to model adaptation and local HTA submissions 
  • Aid with the early assessment of value demonstration using ‘what-if’ modelling to help with product strategy/development decisions
  • Keep abreast of trends in Modeling and statistical approaches, especially in relation to acceptance by HTA/Payers and enhance internal capabilities
  • Prepare detailed reports, manuscripts, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines
  • Manage external vendors and work with external experts to ensure credible models are developed

About you

Experience:

  • Proven track (at least 5 years) record in HEOR disciplines including data analyses, health economic methodology and decision modeling, medical and statistical scientific methodology, input to clinical trials/observational studies, scientific publication record
  • Experience in design and successful execution of state-of-the-art modeling techniques (incl. mathematical modeling)
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R, SAS, STATA). Specific experience with building CEA models in R and using related packages (heemod, BCEA, dampack)
  • Experience with health economic modeling and large healthcare datasets
  • Experience working across several therapeutic areas

Soft skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical details to non-expert audiences
  • Strong customer focus & team spirit
  • Project management experience

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics and/or Health economics (preferred)
  • PhD in Biostatistics, (Pharmaco)epidemiology, Health Economics, or related field is a plus

Languages:

  • English fluent, both written and oral
