Responsibilities
At Société Générale, you will be joining the Development and Structured Export Finance ("DSE") team. The team is involved in the financing of large cross-border investment projects to support both, exporters and sponsors/borrowers. In collaboration with Governmental export credit agencies, development banks, commercial banks, private insurers and investors, the team creates tailor-made financial solutions, which aim to mitigate the risks in financing international projects.
As VIE in the DSE team in Frankfurt you will assist the team members in all stages of projects with a link to German, Austrian, Swiss and Canadian exporters, borrowers and sponsors. The team is focusing on projects aiming to support the transition of economies, such as giga factories, H2 projects, hospitals, on- and off-shore wind farms as well as strategic commodity-based transactions. We focus on large projects, either financed for the borrowers or investors, or, in cooperation with our Project Finance teams, by non-recourse structures.
During your VIE mission you will be involved in the origination, structuring and execution of projects, your main responsibilities being - amongst others:
- Research on clients, markets, market potential, industry sectors and economies in the course of preparing client- and project-related calls/meetings or for marketing initiatives
- To draft internal- and client presentations and credit applications
- To perform profitability calculations
- To perform and support necessary KYC- and compliance investigations
- To update and deliver internal information requirements
- To draft financing proposals to clients
- To follow up on export- and project finance operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Canada to be in contact with German-, Austrian- Swiss- and Canadian clients, to interact with HERMES, OEKB, SERV and EDC, the German-, Austrian-, Swiss and Canadian Governmental export credit agencies as well as with all other internal and external stakeholders of a project
- To review loan documentation and insurance policies

- You are a graduate with a Master degree from a University or Business/Engineering School, ideally with a specialization in Finance or Economics
- A previous practical experience gained through internships in the finance industry is desirable (long term credit business)
Language skills:
- Fluency in English (written and orally) is mandatory
- An intermediate level in German is a plus
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
- You are proficient with MS Office (Excel, Power Point)
The VIE assignment in a nutshellThis VIE in
Frankfurt is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last
