Responsibilities
Société Générale Global Transaction Banking (GTB) includes payment and cash management, cash clearing services, trade services, factoring and foreign exchange services associated to these activities.
GTB integrates all the expertise and services required to facilitate the daily transactional activities of major economic and financial actors both in a domestic and international scope. Trade Services (TRA) is a strategic activity for Société Générale. We can offer the expertise of a large international banking group and experience spanning over twenty years. As a real local Bank in all the countries where we operate, our global system ensures optimal coordination. We can intervene in Trade Services in Europe, Africa, Asia, Americas, Overseas, and in the Middle East.
The responsiveness and dynamism of our teams, their accurate knowledge of market trends and regulations, the strength of our networks and our diverse range of products allow us to optimize the daily management of the cash flow, the commercial and financial transactions for our corporate clients.
As Sales Associate Trade Services you will support the GTB/Trade Services team in Country in any Sales Office Activity with Corporates and Financial Institutions. You will report to the Head of Trade Services in The Netherlands.
Products and services to be marketed will include, amongst others:
• International Guarantees
• Import Letters of Credit
• Export Letters of Credit
• Active cross-selling with the different Business Lines of the Bank especially with the cash management and factoring department of GTB.
The role requires a strong client service orientation, operational and process knowledge, knowledge of regulatory and risk processes, analytical and communication skills as well as professional integrity at all times.
He/she will be an effective team player and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Assist the Head of Trade Services in GTB (International Trade) in the commercial development of the desk: creation of offers, follow up with clients/prospects via telephone/email, preparation of visits, commercial presentations
• Assist the Head of Trade Services in the daily commercial management: liaise with the Middle Office in Amsterdam and the Back Office in Paris, make pricing simulations based upon the information provided by the Head of Trade Services
• Assist the Head of Trade Services on the Risk and Compliance aspects which are linked to the trade activity in the bank: prepare KYC for the onboarding of new Trade clients or new correspondent banks and also take care of regular review of these
• Assist the Head of Trade Services in preparing credit requests/reviews
• Preparation and follow up of the reporting of trade activities; analysis of the evolution of the trade portfolio.
• Participate at client meetings and events
• Act as back up of the Head of Trade Services when she is absent

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply for a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
• Graduate with a Master's degree from Business/Engineering School or University
• A previous experience in Banking, Trade Services would be appreciated
Language skills:
• Fluent in English (B2-C1)
• French
• Other foreign language skills like Dutch and/or any Nordic language would be an asset
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Highly proficient with Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and superior analytical and quantitative skills
• Experience in Trade Services
• Pro-active team player
• Time management, organizational and planning skills with proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills for pitching, other languages could be useful for this position
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
• Comfortable and confident to speak / present to clients and also SG senior management
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Netherlands is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
