In this role, you will step in as a Staff Engineer within the Engineering Productivity team, where you will lead efforts to maintain and evolve CI/CD platforms such as GitLab (with an ongoing migration to GitHub) and tools like ArgoCD and ArgoWorkflow. You will also focus on improving the developer experience by implementing and maintaining tools such as Backstage, Boundary, and BAU. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in promoting best practices, driving initiatives to enhance developer efficiency and speed, and ensuring alignment with Swan’s long-term engineering goals.

You will join a team dedicated to creating a smooth and productive experience for developers by providing scalable infrastructure, reliable workflows, and innovative solutions. The Engineering Productivity team is composed of collaborative, forward-thinking individuals who thrive on solving complex problems and enabling other engineering teams to succeed.

As part of your role, you will act as a technical leader and a key reference for all engineering productivity-related topics. You will help shape the team’s long-term vision, taking part in strategic decisions such as assessing whether to build or buy tools and solutions. In addition, you will mentor and guide other members of the team, serving as a role model by promoting technical excellence, effective communication, and a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Your mission

Your primary mission is to empower Swan’s engineering teams by driving the evolution of CI/CD platforms, improving developer experience through innovative tools and workflows, and shaping the long-term technical vision, all while mentoring your team and making strategic decisions to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with best practices.

Main Tasks

  • Lead the maintenance, evolution, and migration of CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitLab to GitHub).

  • Drive the implementation and adoption of developer experience tools like Backstage, Boundary.

  • Promote and enforce best practices to improve developer efficiency and productivity.

  • Shape and communicate the long-term architectural vision for the team’s platforms and tools.

  • Take part in strategic decisions, such as assessing build vs. buy solutions.

  • Act as a mentor and role model for team members, fostering growth and collaboration.

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and visibility of the team’s work.

  • Lead initiatives to improve the scalability, reliability, and speed of engineering workflows.

  • Manage and challenge projects with the Engineering Manager

Your team 

Our team operates with 7 people, composed of 5 Platform Engineer, 1 developer, and 1 apprentice, working collaboratively to maintain and enhance the tools and platforms that drive engineering productivity. We adopt a proactive and solution-oriented operational approach, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with Swan’s engineering goals. We collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, and engineering leadership to deliver solutions that improve developer efficiency and overall workflows. The team fosters a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and open communication to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.


Profil recherché
