The VWT IT Connectivity team comprises skilled network professionals, including NetOps experts supporting our AWS Cloud network services using IaC and automation.  The team thrives on collaboration, partnering with other IS&T teams to build, industrialise, monitor, and run network services within our service offering catalog. We leverage strong partnerships to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. These partners are committed to continuous improvement and adhere to the Veolia’s governance for run operations and defined SLAs for incident and request resolution.

Our scope includes: IT Backbone (AWS Transit VPC), Global Network Segmentation, Routing (BGP), LAN and WAN (VPN, SD-WAN, etc.), VPN IPSec, GRE or SSL/TLS protocols, NextGen Firewall / SD-WAN solution (Forcepoint), SWG - Web Filtering Proxy (Forcepoint), Extreme Network / Cisco Meraki Wireless, Web Application Firewall and API protection with UBIKA, and AWS Network Services (VPC, Transit Gateway, LB, etc.).

Reporting to the Infrastructure and Operations Manager, your duties and responsibilities will be:

Operational Management:

• Oversee day-to-day network operations, ensuring service availability and performance
• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation
• Manage network monitoring and alerting systems
• Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts
• Capacity planning and performance optimization

Project Execution:

• Plan and execute network infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
• Collaborate with other teams on cross-functional strategic projects
• Manage vendor relationships for network hardware  and services

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies
• Contribute to the development of the team's technical roadmap

Partner Management:

• Oversee and manage relationships with key network service providers
• Ensure partners adhere to SLAs and performance metrics

Security and Compliance:

• Work closely with the security teams to build security policies
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with the regulations

Regional Collaboration: Work closely with regional IT teams to ensure seamless network operations and project delivery. Coordination is crucial for successful project outcomes

Community Animation: Lead and animate the network community across regions, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing. This includes disseminating information about incidents, changes to the network service catalog, and projects that impact or involve regional teams.

Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for network infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures. Ensure documentation ownership and accuracy within the team.

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN)
• 10+ yrs Hands-on experience with network hardware and software (firewalls, routers, switches)
• 7+ yrs Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Ansible)
• SASE Expertise: Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture and implementation, including FWaaS, SWG, DLP, CASB, and ZTNA
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices
• Proven ability to contribute to RFP processes and evaluate vendor proposals.

Soft Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent English language proficiency (written and spoken).
• 10+ years of Experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
