Who are we ?

The creation of Volta Medical follows the discovery of a new complex medical procedure to treat atrial fibrillation (the most common cardiac arrhythmia in the world) by the company’s founders, world experts in interventional rhythmology and intracardiac signal analysis. Volta Medical is an innovative start-up based in Marseille, whose goal is to provide a range of artificial intelligence-based products to guide the cardiologist during ablation-type procedures.We started this adventure 8 years ago and our team now has more than 120 employees in France, Germany and the United States ! We completed a $27 million Series A round in November 2020 and a $36 million Series B round in January 2023.

  • Missions

  • We are looking for an experienced individual to act as our Senior Sales Director in Europe. The Senior Sales Director will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion.  Based in Germany, this role will oversee sales operations in Germany and France, leading and motivating teams to deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the medical device industry, specifically in electrophysiology, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex markets. 
  • Your main responsibilities will be : 
  • Develop, in partnership with the CEO, the strategic and commercial plans for the European market. 
  • Align the organization’s revenue objectives with overall business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, strategy development, forecasting, resource planning, and budgeting. 
  • Actively lead in the identification and development of new client relationships, channel relationships and business development initiatives that lead to company wide global growth.  
  • Optimize the sales processes and operational performance management practices. Consistently track performance and hold the team accountable to key performance metrics.  
  • Build and lead the sales and clinical support team, including fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior. 
  • Lead all sales organization design, including recruiting, training, developing, and retaining high-quality teams.  
  • Hit agreed-upon targets on a consistent basis, including revenue targets, pricing targets, budgets targets, and other key financial performance objectives. 
  • Provide input and collaborate effectively cross-functionally with functional leaders, including product, operations and marketing to provide input on market and customer needs to drive success.
  • With cooperation from the VP of Marketing and other executives, design, formalize and implement the go-to-market strategy across both current (France, Germany, Benelux, Denmark) and potential new regions to optimize the sales cycle, capture market acceptance, and achieve sales goals. 
  • Be a strong role model while cultivating an ambitious, enthusiastic, and performance-oriented work environment that is aligned with the Company’s strategy and values. 
  • Profile

  •  You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing/Sales, or other related degree, with a preference for an MBA 
  • You have 10+ years of experience in sales with direct clinical support leadership roles with a demonstrated successful track record of selling complex technology based medical device software and hardware solutions to physicians in large provider organizations. 
  • Strong preference for experience in Electrophysiology or rhythmology 
  • Also, preference for AI and/or SaaS technologies 
  • You have a proven track record of partnering with the CEO and cross functional leaders on strategic and commercial challenges with positive outcomes.  
  • You have experience launching a novel technology and creating revenue from zero to 50M+ 
  • You have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, including customers, senior leadership, the Board, and investors.  
  • You have demonstrated leadership ability to identify and focus on strategic priorities. 
  • You must be adept and willing to perform hands-on work. 
  • You have a current and well-developed network of leading practitioners in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. 
  • Your ability to establish and communicate a clear vision and engage team members will be critical to your success in this role. 
  • 50-60% travel, including international travel
