About the job

Since Alma's creation in 2018, our growth has been exceptional with hundreds of new merchants adopting our solutions every month. We currently collaborate with 18000+ merchants across 10 European countries, and the acquisition of new Mid-Market accounts is a pivotal focus for us. As a Business Development Representative Mid-Market, you will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and contribute directly to Alma's sales success.

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) in the Mid-Market team, your impact at Alma will be immediate and tangible: you will directly contribute to increasing payment volumes processed by Alma while growing our merchant portfolio. You will have the satisfaction of helping the team closing deals within weeks and in manifesting Alma as a European player.

About the mission

Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager Mid-Market, your main responsibilities are:

  • Develop Alma's sales activity using the tools available (telephone/email/social networks, Sales navigator...) and closely work with the Growth team to actively prospect on a defined block of verticals with players having a turnover of between €10M and €250M
  • Generate lists of prospects in collaboration with the Growth and Marketing teams
  • Implement a prospecting strategy and actively follow-up targets in order to qualify their needs and identify potential projects
  • Obtaining qualified appointments for your Account Executives
  • Track and monitor your activity and find the best methods to improve the prospecting process.

You will also benefit from an ongoing coaching/training program that will enable you to develop strong commercial, e-commerce and payment skills.

About you

You will be a good fit for the role if:

  • Experience: you have experience in a similar role selling B2B solutions. Knowledge of the e-commerce and/or payment world is a plus!
  • Language: native or bilingual in French is a prerequisite. A minimum of full professional proficiency in English is mandatory
  • Strong communication skills: you are very at ease when interacting with prospects, clients or any stakeholders of the industry, and you always ensure the appropriate level of reporting internally
  • Structured: you are a quick learner who rapidly gets up to speed in understanding the challenges faced by merchants
  • Rigorous and organized: you advance in a methodical manner and follow your prospects to the end
  • Ambitious and driven by challenge: you have a strong desire to exceed your goals
  • You want to make an impact and drive excellence in a fast growing company

About the recruitment process

  • Phone interview with Recruiter (30 mins)
  • Remote interview with Hiring manager (45 mins)
  • A written case study to complete at home, following by an on-site/remote case study presentation (60 mins)
  • On-site Final interview with VP Sales (30 mins) & Team Fit interview (30 mins)
