We’re looking for a sharp, pragmatic, and independent In-House Counsel to join our growing legal team and help support and drive Cohabs’ legal and administrative operations as we continue to scale globally.
Legal Powerhouse: Take ownership of key legal processes, managing critical legal tasks across the organization while ensuring smooth execution and full compliance.
Documentation Wizard: Develop a structured approach to legal documentation, organizing and centralizing legal materials to ensure accessibility, consistency, and clarity.
Strategic Partner: Work closely with the VP of Legal to support daily operations, assist in managing priorities, and contribute to the development of strategic legal initiatives.
Lease Agreement Guru: Customize and enhance lease agreements globally to align with Cohabs’ unique brand, mission, and interests while maintaining legal compliance.
Contract Architect: Draft and manage a variety of legal documents, including commercial agreements, general terms and conditions, and maintenance agreements.
Project Leader: Autonomously manage critical legal projects and ad-hoc initiatives, including insurance, GDPR compliance, corporate governance, and member-related legal solutions.
City Manager Support: Assist City Managers with legal matters and corporate governance across multiple jurisdictions.
Member Advocate: Serve as a trusted advisor to Cohabs members, addressing legal concerns and ensuring positive resolutions.
You have a Master’s degree in Law, with strong expertise in civil, commercial, and corporate law.
You have at least 5 years of experience as a lawyer in a top-tier law firm or as an in-house counsel, with a track record of managing projects independently.
You are a problem solver with a pragmatic and innovative mindset, always looking for smart solutions.
You’re a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, assesses risks effectively, and knows when to escalate matters to senior management.
You’re a trusted team player, seamlessly collaborating with cross-functional teams and bringing people together.
You love fast-paced, dynamic environments where tight deadlines and pressure drive you to perform at your best.
You have excellent communication skills in both English & French, and can explain complex legal concepts in a simple, engaging way.
