Epic Foundation is seeking a Programs Manager to support our programmatic and grantmaking efforts. The Programs Manager will play a crucial role within the foundation. Working closely with the Programs team, they will contribute to the implementation of Epic’s programmatic and grantmaking strategy, from selection to monitoring, and assist in managing Epic’s portfolio of non-profits.
The Programs Manager will work in close collaboration with the Programs team and report to the Programs Director. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in non-profit program management, grantmaking, and a strong passion for social impact.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to Epic’s strategy to manage a global portfolio of non-profit organizations focused on two areas: children and youth, and the environment and future generations.
Participate in the selection of strong organizations for the portfolio through comprehensive due diligence on impact, operations, and governance. This includes researching potential organizations; collaborating with reference partners; reviewing models, processes, and documents; evaluating applications and supporting documents; conducting interviews with candidate organizations and carrying out selection visits.
Manage the ongoing monitoring and analysis of the overall performance, growth, and development of portfolio organizations. This involves becoming a point of contact for a portion of the portfolio associations, organizing bi-annual calls, reviewing and analyzing monitoring data, writing annual monitoring reports, organizing annual monitoring visits, and providing ad-hoc technical support to organizations, as needed and desired.
Support the grantmaking process and contribute to strategic projects within the Programs team, such as impact evaluation and capacity building.
Facilitate and liaise with other foundation teams, including the Communication and Marketing team to maintain up-to-date data and information on portfolio organizations on the website, applications, and relevant documents; the Operations team for grantmaking, due diligence, and portfolio organization financial reporting; and the Development team to support its donor relations.
Contribute to Epic’s research program and knowledge management (reports, case studies, analysis of trends and developments in the field of philanthropy) and help develop Epic’s leadership and reputation as a key player in the philanthropic sector.
Work with the Programs team to strengthen the systems and processes for evaluating the impact of Epic’s programs worldwide.
Any other tasks that may be assigned as part of their function.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in the non-profit sector, with a proven track record in program management and/or grantmaking.
Understanding of current best practices and innovations in philanthropic strategies and grantee organization support.
Knowledge of non-profit management, design, and impact analysis.
Knowledge of due diligence and M&E tools (development and implementation).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially in a small, start-up minded organization.
Excellent level of French & English.
Comfortable using technology and learning new software (experience with Salesforce or other grantor portals a plus).
Right to work in France.

Salary: Based on experience, within a range of €38,000–€43,000, + Benefits
