As a Head of Compliance in a recently licensed payment institution (since last October), you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the compliance strategy working closely with the Executive team (Exco), the CEO and the Board.

Your end-goal: Drive the compliance strategy to not only ensure regulatory adherence but also support business growth 🎯

As a Head of Compliance, your missions are to:

• Define and carry out the Compliance strategy for Hero, aligning it with the company’s mission: solving working capital and cash flow issues for European digital SMEs through innovative credit solutions.

• Manage the Compliance team (composed of 2 Compliance Officers) and foster close collaboration with internal teams (operations, product, finance) and external partners (ACPR, local authorities, industry stakeholders).

• Serve as the main liaison with regulators to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Oversee internal controls and the detection of suspicious activities, ensuring all actions align with regulatory expectations.

• Conduct regulatory reporting and manage both internal and external audits to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Implement and continuously optimize robust tools and processes to effectively manage and mitigate compliance risks.

• Proactively anticipate and monitor regulatory developments, adapting company policies and procedures accordingly to stay ahead of regulatory changes.

• Build a strong compliance culture by providing regular training and raising awareness across all teams (product, support, management) to foster company-wide understanding and buy-in.

Your Profile? 🦸

• A graduate with a master’s degree in Law/Compliance and over 7 years of experience as Head of Compliance in the Fintech or Banking sector. You have in-depth knowledge of the financial/credit industry.

• An expert in payment/financial/credit products, capable of guiding the CEO and the executive team in strategic decision-making and aligning Hero’s compliance strategy with its long-term goals.

• A decisive leader, unafraid to make impactful business decisions and take responsibility for them.

• A problem solver: highly independent and capable of autonomously managing complex projects.

• With excellent interpersonal skills, you are capable of building, motivating, and engaging the Compliance team, while working closely with other departments.

• An excellent communicator who effectively liaises with both internal and external stakeholders (including regulators).

• Agile and flexible, you easily adapt to a fast-paced and high-growth environment.

• Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
