CONTEXT
The Paris Brain Institute’s Electrophysiology Core Facility (ePHYS) provides researchers with access to advanced electrophysiology for the study of neural processes underlying neurological disorders. The facility offers in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology services applied to a variety of models ranging from 2D or 3D hIPSC cultures, brain slices to awake animals. The core facility is embedded in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment involving 29 research teams and 12 state-of-the-art core facilities. To strengthen its activities, ePHYS is seeking a Junior Research Engineer in the field of in vitro electrophysiology.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Research Engineer will be involved in innovative projects requiring functional exploration of various in vitro models using patch-clamp and multielectrode array (MEA) techniques. The projects investigate neuronal processes underlying brain activity in normal or pathological contexts. The candidate will benefit from new expertise in technologies such as high-density MEA.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
The Research Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Patch-clamp and MEA recordings from cell lines, primary cultures, brain slices and organoids
- Data analysis
- Involvement in research activities, including literature review, experimental design, and data interpretation and visualization for manuscript preparation
- Ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
- Report of research findings to the teams
