What’s the job? About the role We are going through and exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer (Backend) to join our Software Engineering team. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with your cross functional team to design and implement new features and products, whilst bringing ideas, energy, and leadership to the table.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality software that will delight our customers.
- Work with users and stakeholders to understand and deliver value through your product.
- Participate in design, code, and test reviews.
- Practice DevOps, testing and releasing software continuously.
- Integrate software with monitoring, observability, and support tools.
- Mentor other engineers.
- Participate in team process, using Agile methodologies to adapt and continuously improve.
- Follow data-driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate features.
- Share feedback & seek opportunities to improve software quality.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the product life cycle.
- Researchnew technologies that can be of use.
What you’ll bring Skills and Experience - Strong proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+)
- Solid experience with the Spring ecosystem
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of Docker and basic container orchestration concepts (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Ability to participate in and influence solution design and architectural discussions
- Good grasp of software engineering principles: SOLID, clean code, testability
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Testcontainers)
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Nice to have
- Experience of mentoring other engineers.
- Experience with microservices architectures.
- Experience working with cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred).
- Experience programming in Kotlin.
- Experience with Test Driven Development and/or Behavioural Driven Development approaches.
