After living in Australia, Brazil, the United States, and the equally exotic Strasbourg, Ugo began his career as a poker player in Paris.

Real risk-taker, Ugo decided to launch his first travel startup back in 2017 with his acolyte Leo while attending his business school. While experimenting with the issues on the market, Ugo decided to create Koala in 2018 to build fair & simple travel insurance and disrupt this dusty market.

Ugo is weirdly passionate about Elon Musk, going to Mars, and strongly believes cryptocurrencies will change the world.

Suvendu is an experienced insurance professional with a demonstrated history of working across global markets, multi cultural and national workforce. With an MBA in Insurance & Risk management, he spent the last few years working with some of the largest corporations in the Insurance industry, and in his previous role, was leading the Property and Specialty digital solutions APAC at Swiss Re.

Being an Insurtech enthusiast with hands on experience in dealing with innovation and new product development, Suvendu is currently the Head of Insurance propositions at Koala trying to understand client needs globally and curate the best in class, yet super simple travel insurance products.

When Suvendu is not structuring Insurance products, he loves spending his time reading, photographing, travelling with family and being the always hungry food lover.

Alexandre has been working in the software industry for 15+ years, as a fullstack developer or as an engineering manager. After 2 years at Viadeo or 3 years at Doctolib, he was looking for an early-stage company with a flat organization. That's why he chose to join Koala.

Today, he works as a fullstack developer. The first mission of his team is to define a scalable API that can be easily integrated by hundreds of partners, worldwide.

When Alexandre is not coding, he spends time practicing Chinese martial arts, surfing, or learning new things in various fields like coffee brewing.
