In the context of continued YoY growth, Purchasing at L-Acoustics has become of utmost strategic importance. With an ambitious growth roadmap ahead, L-Acoustics senior leadership has decided to reposition Purchasing as a stand-alone Division reporting directly into the CEO.  

Leading the global Purchasing function, the Director of Purchasing is responsible for  setting the group wide Purchasing strategy across Direct and Indirect Purchasing. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

The Director of Purchasing will work closely with various departments, from R&D to Industry and Supply Chain, to align Purchasing strategies with organizational goals.  


Responsibilities    

The Director of Purchasing will focus on developing a best-in-class Purchasing function ensuring operational continuity, cost efficiency and scalability in a high growth environment.
More precisely the Director of Purchasing will focus on :

Leadership :

  • Position the Purchasing function as a key strategic player within the organization, driving value and innovation.
  • Establish a short-, mid- and long-term vision for the Purchasing function defining key strategic priorities, developing the teams and setting the organization up for sustainable success.
  • Develop and implement Purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Champion cross-functional initiatives and collaboration. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Purchasing team connecting it transversally across the organization with other key stakeholders.

Strategic Purchasing Initiatives:

  • Champion Purchasing Initiatives such as setting up multi-sourcing and design-to-cost processes as well as spearheading digital transformations to enhance supply chain resilience and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize the supply base and reduce costs.
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead key negotiation strategies establishing master agreements as per business needs.

Project Purchasing:

  • Oversee Project Purchasing team focusing on the Purchasing of materials and services for specific projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project budgets.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.

Commodity Purchasing:

  • Manage Commodity purchasing team focusing on the Purchasing of raw materials and commodities, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable supply.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Indirect Purchasing:

  • Oversee Indirect Purchasing team focusing on the  Purchasing of indirect goods and services, such as office supplies, IT equipment, and professional services…
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize the supply base and reduce costs.
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement


Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate Purchasing risks, including supply chain disruptions and supplier performance issues.

Experience, skills & educational background    

  • Master's Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Purchasing and purchasing management.
  • A minimum of 5+ years in a leadership role, managing teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • Proven track record of cost reduction and process improvement.
