Job Description

About Lesaffre:

Lesaffre is a global key player in fermentation and biotechnology, driven by innovation and

sustainability. As part of our Digital, Data & Tech (DD&T) transformation, we are

continuously exploring cutting-edge technologies to empower our teams and enhance

productivity.

Internship Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy intern to evaluate Generative AI solutions

aimed at improving coding productivity for various technical profiles at Lesaffre, including

Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Computational Biologists, Biostatisticians,

and Automation Engineers.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore AI-driven tools, engage with

stakeholders, and contribute to strategic recommendations for future implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User Needs Assessment:
   • Collaborate with developers and technical teams to understand their coding pain points and productivity challenges.
   • Conduct surveys and interviews to gather insights on expectations from AIassisted coding solutions.
   2. Market Benchmarking:
   • Identify and analyze existing Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AWS CodeWhisperer, Google Duet AI, etc.).
   • Evaluate tools based on technical functionalities, security, ease of integration, and cost considerations.
   3. Solution Testing:
   • Perform hands-on testing of shortlisted solutions in real-world coding environments.
   • Assess performance, accuracy, user experience, and potential productivity gains.
   4. Security & Compliance Analysis:
   • Work with Lesaffre’s IT security teams to evaluate compliance with data privacy policies and cybersecurity standards.
   • Ensure adherence to company guidelines for AI adoption.
   5. Strategic Recommendation:
   • Synthesize findings into a comprehensive report with data-driven insights.
   • Provide actionable recommendations to guide decision-making on the adoption of Generative AI tools at Lesaffre.

• Currently pursuing an Engineering or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data
• Science, AI, or a related field.
• Strong interest in AI, software development productivity tools, and emerging
• technologies.
• Basic programming skills (Python, SQL, etc.) and familiarity with development
• environments (Git, CI/CD pipelines).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to compare and assess technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluency in English (French is a plus).

• Duration: 4-6 months
