Location: Paris (France) 

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Backend Engineer to join our Propershot team at Diffusely, focusing on our real estate product line (B2B & B2C). As part of an agile, startup-like team of 11 people within Diffusely, you will focus on designing distributed and scalable systems primarily in PHP/Symfony, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and can adapt to rapid growth. 

Our Propershot team is transforming the future of real estate imagery. Our ambitious goal? To create advanced image editing and enhancement tools that streamline workflows and deliver high-quality, market-ready visuals. We are leveraging the power of AI to eliminate the constraints of traditional editing processes and bring real estate listings to life like never before.

Our team’s objectives are as follows:

1. Design and Build Scalable, Secure Systems
   Develop robust applications and infrastructure that meet evolving technical and business requirements, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and adaptability for future growth.

2. Champion Iterative and Continuous Delivery
   Adopt short development cycles and frequent releases to rapidly deliver value and gather feedback, maximizing the impact of each deployment.

3. Optimize Performance and Costs
   Continuously identify opportunities to improve application speed and stability while minimizing resource usage. Implement strategies that deliver tangible cost savings and help the team maintain a competitive edge.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our systems. Adhering to DevOps and SRE principles, your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our systems, ultimately facilitating the delivery of consistent and robust products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust components to support the growth.
• Implement and optimize APIs and backend systems to enhance application performance.
• Analyze and optimize application performance, ensuring minimal downtime and quick response times.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and technologies.
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality code.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions.
• Define our operational excellence standards.
• Shape the way Diffusely is delivering AI-powered products at scale.

Qualifications/Skills

• Minimum of 5 years in software engineering, with a proven track record in backend development.
• Expertise in PHP (Symfony 6/7, API Platform) and hands-on experience with Python (FastAPI).
• Experience with developing, operating, and monitoring cloud solutions (preferably on AWS).
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and scaling microservices architectures.
• Expertise in building secure, resilient, and scalable APIs for diverse applications.
• Team player with proactive approach and high sensibility for quality.
• Fluent in French and good English communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Eager to learn, explore and take actions.
