Poclain Hydraulics is founded as a fully independent company, spin-off of Case-Poclain, dedicated to developing the market of the came-lob hydraulic motor and achieved a turnover of 15M€.
Georges Bataille, our Founder, Picard farmer, aims to become an industrialist and promoter of progress by improving farmers’ working conditions the first high pressure hydraulic excavator. It forever revolutionized the market for construction, agriculture and many others.
Pioneer of hydraulics on mobile machines, the first G0 hydraulic motor launched in 1958 marking a decisive turning point in the development of the company.
Guillaume Bataille, George’s son is resolutely turned towards the international scene, accelerating the development of the family business. He structured the Poclain network and cleared the way to new markets.
At its peak, Poclain had 10,000 employees and operated in more than 80 countries. The world was using a Poclain, not just an excavator.

Our culture has always been oriented toward human being with emphasis on people development and education. We promote local actions. A few years back, Poclain took an active part to the creation of a school for young who had fallen out of the educational system. We are still proudly involved in it.
We are also concerned by the environmental challenges and their impacts on human life. We committed to the SBTi to reduce our CO2 emission (all scopes) to achieve COP21’s ambition in maintaining global warming below 1,5°C. And even if we already use water wisely, we committed ourselves to drastically reduce our consumption and to take out from our industrial processes any risk of water pollution.
