Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team within the Tech department. This role involves close collaboration with the data community (analytics engineers, data analysts), backend team, algorithm specialists, and DevOps engineers.

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our data platform and its underlying infrastructure. You’ll design and optimize data pipelines, ensure high data quality, and leverage your expertise in GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform to build scalable, reliable systems. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the team’s technical direction, mentor colleagues, and drive innovation to meet business and technical goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design and optimize scalable pipelines for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workflows using GCP services like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• DevOps and Automation: Manage infrastructure with Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform; implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and monitoring.
• Code Management: Maintain version-controlled codebases (SQL, DBT, Python) and apply software engineering best practices to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Data Quality: Ensure high data quality and reliability through automated validation, monitoring, and governance standards.
• Cloud Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of GCP to build cost-efficient, high-performance, and scalable data solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor team members, promote collaboration, and contribute to innovative technical strategies aligned with business goals.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proven experience in building cloud-based, scalable data pipelines.
• Hands-on expertise with Airflow, dbt, and Python for orchestrating and transforming data workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching team members to bring out their best and foster collaboration.
• Hands-on experience in building robust infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
• Strong data modeling expertise, with a deep understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modeling.
• Practical knowledge of the modern data stack: tools such as Airbyte, Airflow, Pub/Sub, dbt Core, BigQuery, and others.
• Experience implementing and automating CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability.
