Responsibilities
Communications is responsible for the external communications (branding, press, advertising, social media, digital/websites, conferences & events) and internal communications (intranet, newsletters, digital, events) for SG Americas including our offices in the US, Canada and Brazil. The team works closely with the SG Americas CEO and Executive Committee, as well as key partners in the Business Units, Human Resources and other support functions to communicate key stories and initiatives that help promote SG Americas to its clients, stakeholders, recruits and the broader banking industry.
EVENTS COORDINATION :
- Contribute to the planning, coordination and execution of SG U.S. client and internal conferences, citizenship events, employee resource group (ERG) events, dinners, and much more. Working directly with members of the communications team as well as others from SG's business units and support functions
- Some of the responsibilities of the position include: set-up and coordination of invitation process including the entering and processing of all event data into proprietary database management system; scheduling in-house meetings and events booked in the firm's internal function space; understanding the technical needs of events (use of platforms as Zoom, MS Teams, Survey Monkey, Slido, etc.); collaborating with the in-house AV Team providing creative solutions and support with hybrid and virtual event production
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATION : - Contribute to communications activities at both the local and regional level. Be a key part of the Communications team with responsibilities across the region while assisting on video, editorial and internal communications activities
- Some of the responsibilities of the position include: record and edit videos to be used internally or externally; translate English content in French; propose stories and posts to be used both internally and externally

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University
- A previous experience in Communications would be appreciated
Language skills:
- High level of English fluency, both written and verbal
Operational, technical & soft skills:
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Proficient/Good command of MS Office
- Video/Photography - concepting, filming and editing
- Social media - capability to contribute to key platforms including LinkedIn
- Writing - beyond fluency, must be a skilled writer who can contribute to stories and posts for both internal and external audiences
- Project management - ability to individually manage projects with various internal business and support function clients
- Team work - ability to work effectively within the SG Americas team
- Translations - while not a daily need, there is a need for periodic translation of materials from English to French to use for our Montreal office
The VIE assignment in a nutshellThis VIE in
New York is to begin
July 1st, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last
18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
