Job Description

To support Sodexo’s global strategy as a sustainable food service and valued experiences company, specifically supporting our climate ambition, the Carbon Accounting Analyst provides the technical expertise related to Sodexo’s climate impacts and the rising expectations of stakeholders.

The objectives of the Carbon Accounting Analyst Manager are:

  • Bring to Sodexo a strong expertise in climate impacts, measurement and calculation as well as the ability to convert impacts into reduction actions.

  • Ensure Sodexo’s global SBTi verified Net Zero 2040 commitment continues to be impact driven and maintains integrity of the science-based target.

  • Ensure Sodexo remains alert to the evolving space of climate science and action.

Key Responsibilities

The Carbon Accounting Analyst, with the Climate Project Manager, constitutes the climate expertise center of Sodexo, responsible for:

  • Identifying the most impactful and most feasible commitments and actions

  • Digesting complexity to bring simple, operational direction to the business

  • Maintaining KPI methodologies and performing calculations and analysis

  • Reporting qualitative and quantitative progress, ensuring CSRD compliance and supporting Sodexo’s leadership position

The Carbon Accounting Analyst, is in charge of:

  • Maintaining Sodexo’s carbon calculation methodology, ensuring Sodexo considers and implements as necessary, new standards, methodologies and impacts as they emerge in the evolving space of climate science, technology advancement, and carbon footprint reduction.

  • Managing, with the support of the Climate Project Manager, the annual company carbon calculation, analysis and reporting process, conducting re-baselining as identified.

  • Monitoring and analyzing carbon emissions action plans at Group, Entity, and Site Level, identifying and escalating any challenges or anomalies that could impact Sodexo’s overall climate ambition.

  • Providing continuous improvement of the processes and tools used to support the country carbon reduction roadmaps (using the group internal carbon trajectory tool – Traace). 

  • Contributing to the development of site level Sodexo service carbon footprint methodologies and client report deliveries.

  • Ensuring climate-related information is provided to external entities as related to Sodexo’s overall reporting requirements/strategies, including ensuring industry leadership on CDP.

  • Supporting internal stakeholders working on data transformation to ensure climate requirements are taken into account (for example: leverage existing and future supply chain data systems; site management systems, etc.).


Profil recherché

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Sustainability, Climate science, Environmental science or similar.

  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience, with success in the areas of carbon accounting, climate and reporting.

  • Fluent in English. French skills are a plus.

 ​​​​​​​Hard skills:

  • Expertise in GHG emissions scopes and detailed understanding of GHG accounting and reporting principles, including the GHG Protocol, SBTi guidelines, regulatory framework in three key areas (France, UK, USA), other international standards and knowledge of LCA is a plus.

  • Effective project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in food value chain and/or facilities management highly desirable.

  • ​​​​​​​Strong ability to analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data and translate into actionable information.

  • ​​​​​​​Ability to work collaboratively with global and diverse teams.

​​​​​​​OTHER INFORMATION :

  • The position will ideally be based in Issy-les-Moulineaux (near Paris, France).
