In a context of growth, we’ve got ambitious objectives, especially in our Tech Team.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will help to build Combo’s platform, which is the underlying foundation of our entire set of Products and Services. Your objective is to make sure Combo’s infrastructure and services work seamlessly, reliably, at scale while being easy to operate, maintain and upgrade. You’re also in charge of the Developer Experience at Combo by providing services & tooling to the Tech team so they can focus on Product development and remain highly productive and efficient.

Combo’s Tech & Product team is about 50+ people and growing. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee our Tooling & Infrastructure team (6pp). You will mentor, coach, and enable your squad so they can generate value across the entire perimeter: Infrastructure, CI/CD, Observability, DevX & Tooling and Technical Support.

We’ve got many challenges ahead of us: building a solid and flexible architecture using decoupled and distributed systems and contributing to Combo’s Engineering culture. This is why we chose to embrace the Platform Engineering discipline.

We’re looking for passionate individuals with ambition who can take our squads to the next level in terms of processes, skillset, impact, and excellence.

Our stack today is made of Ruby, NodeJS, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Redis, GCP, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Grafana, etc.

How are we organized?

Each squad is made up of a PM, an EM, 2 to 8 Devs (back-end, front-end and/or full-stack) and, depending on requirements, a Designer or QA.

Product and Tech teams are experts in their product areas and corresponding users’ issues, they are autonomous in defining and achieving their quarterly and annual objectives, which are aligned with the company’s product strategy.

As the Tooling and Infrastructure EM, you’ll provide leverage to all squads through a set of environments, tools and services. You’re basically acting as a multiplier across the entire Tech team.

✨ Your Mission

  • Act as an enabler for your squad by improving processes and practices in a learning environment, and helping with cross-squad teamwork through coordination and facilitation

  • Empower your squad members towards increasing delivery proficiency to achieve high-level output and outcome for the entire Tech team

  • Guide through design and implementation by helping the squads make the best technical decisions

  • People management and growth: hiring, mentoring, coaching, setting goals of 6-8 Engineers

  • Act according a defining standard for the entire Tech team by operating at a high level of accountability, ownership and provide guidance and evangelizing through sharing best practices of Engineering operations

  • Work with passionate teams of Engineers, Product Managers, Quality Engineers, customer support, and other colleagues in a friendly and international environment


Profil recherché

🎯 Preferred Experience

  • At least 5 years of Engineering Management experience

  • Strong technical background with previous DevOps experience (5+ years)

  • Have experience building & scaling high-performing teams

  • You own operating a set of Products at scale, you are process and metric-driven, and drive the performance of your team through data

  • Excellent communication skills, both top-down and bottom-up

  • Open-minded and ready to receive and give feedback to team members

  • You’re fluent in English

  • Experience with remote teams

  • Bonus: passionate about Platform Engineering and technology powering infrastructure: K8’s, Prometheus, Node, React, TS
