JOB ENVIRONMENT

The Indirect Procurement Function in EssilorLuxottica is managing 2.5+ Bn € spend worldwide, the Marketing category covers more than 800 Mln € globally. The recent changes in the Group Organization will drive a much higher centralization of the spend management: this will require a high sourcing and analytical capability, combined with high efficiency.

The Resource, reporting to the Head of Trade Marketing Procurement, will be responsible for the category spend, with no direct reports, will have to coordinate and work effectively with the existing resources in the regions and in the business functions, to create an “extended” sourcing team.  Stakeholders are distributed principally in Milan and Paris HQ, but this individual will be required to accommodate multiple time zones connecting with regions.

 

GENERAL FUNCTION

Will work with business functional leaders of each spend category to align on needs, driving the sourcing activities after defining the appropriate strategy.

These categories include Trade Marketing Materials (POP, Window Displays, Promotional materials, Screens and Digital Tools), Trade Fairs and Events, Printed materials, all other Marketing BTL categories. The role will be primarily measured on Savings/Cost Management, Business Partnering, Strategic Project Management/Execution, Payment Terms & Working Capital, E-sourcing & Innovation.

Part of the Global indirect procurement team, is responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, leading sourcing and coordinating purchasing activities in the Corporate and global perimeter.

Individual will focus on continuous process/system improvements while providing exceptional customer service and cost savings.

This position does not manage direct resources but will coordinate with regional procurement managers on corporate initiatives, providing guidance and direction on matters within the commodities serviced. Serves as a leader in the company's efforts to maintain an effective system of internal controls. This position stays current on developments related to their respective field, actively pursue knowledge, familiarize with design development and use information to accurately make timely decisions as well as contribute to the decision making process by logically presenting ideas to decision makers.

The resource will be supporting approximately 400€ Mln in spends. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Head of Global Category with strategy development, including strategy coordination for related categories
  • Work with the business to segment and identify spend areas to strategically source with the goal of identifying cost savings and increasing working capital through payment terms.
  • Issue RFx and analyze best solutions, negotiate price and commercial terms and conditions.  Implement sourcing projects and be accountable for results, proposing to internal stakeholders valid solutions in terms of right vendors, materials and solutions.
  • Develop and document sourcing best practices through creation of knowledge documents
  • Quickly acquire commodity knowledge in categories where there is limited internal knowledge
  • Category Management which includes policy creation/management, updating, identifying and implementing demand management programs, internal communications of category initiatives and reporting of results, contract negotiation and implementation
  • Supplier Management and continuous evaluation/assessment of supplier performance, ensuring consistency of service, quality and compliance.
  • Benchmarking of internal and external costs against industry and competitive standards
  • Lead projects and work cross functionally with regional/global teams
  • Support internal purchasing process
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management in all regions, and all accountable Group functions (e.g. Top Management, Legal, Tax, Procure To Pay, Accounts Payable…)
  • Influence and drive internal stakeholders business decisions with procurement capabilities and analysis;

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelors Degree required, in Economics/Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years experience in procurement or related function, marketing procurement preferred
  • Experience in Indirect/Services Sourcing and/or Retail/Marketing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in project leading, tender organization and cost saving projects management
  • Knowledge of:
    • General Purchasing principals and procedures
    • Procurement and Sourcing processes
    • Business, Marketing and Trade Marketing Principles
    • EL Organizations
    • Accounting & Finance
  • Skills In:
    • Negotiation
    • Leadership & Project Management
