About the team

The Underwriting team at Wakam, is the cornerstone of risk assessment and decision-making thanks to the internal datas and industry insights to make informed decisions, ensuring Wakam provides comprehensive and competitive insurance solutions.

As experts in evaluating and pricing risk, we're dedicated to ensuring profitability while providing optimal coverage for our clients. From analyzing data to developing underwriting strategies, we're committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our customers.

Merging legal expertise with product development. The Insurance Legal Product team ensures that Wakam's insurance offerings comply with legal requirements while staying innovative and competitive in the market.

Wakam is present in all sectors of property and casualty insurance, in France, the UK and in Europe.

Our job is to design bespoke insurance solutions, to insure everyone in the right place at the right time.

Key responsibilities :

Reporting to the Product Squad, you will actively participate in the creation of various products & documentations, in the whole European Union :

  • Design of products and coverages (mandatory and market coverages, exclusions, limits, deductibles) in coordination with our Pricing team, ensuring that they are compliant with regulations and provide high level commercial and customer outcomes;
  • Formalize and validate product documentation (policy wordings, schedule, IPID, certificates of insurance);
  • Definition and formalization of the needs in collaboration with our distribution partners and insurers;
  • Formalization of product summaries and target markets in collaboration with our distribution partners;
  • Review and process changes to existing products;
  • Adherence to processes and practices to meet and achieve excellence in product governance and industry regulations;
  • Participating in the "Plain Language" project to simplify insurance documentation for the policyholder within regulatory constraints.

You will work in coordination with the Sales, Pricing, Legal, Reinsurance & Compliance Departments.

The Profile

Key competencies & Working mindset

You have a Master degree in insurance law or a business school :

  • You have a large experience in insurance : (SME (RC Pro / MRP) and Cyber.
  • Your legal & Insurance skills offer you the opportunity to participate on new propositions and product changes through a strong Product Governance Process
  • A large part of our customers and a growing community of our wakamees are located outside of France, so a good practice of English is mandatory
  • You have a taste for teamwork and project mode in an agile environment
  • You have good communication, organization and prioritisation skills

In addition, you are:

  • Rigorous and analytical
  • Dynamic, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Autonomous and resourceful, not afraid to take initiatives
