Job Description
Your mission as Finance Manager for lempire is to establish, streamline, and manage our financial operations.
You'll be responsible for maintaining fiscal health and stability, enabling efficient growth and scale, and driving the creation and optimization of our financial systems and processes.
- This position is not a management role. We've managed to outsource our Finance function to Airporting while achieving >28M$ ARR. The ideal candidate should be able to work with external accountants and providers with no expected direct reports.
- We are looking for a do-er. A love for Excel modeling and analytics is a must; the person should not be afraid to get their hands dirty.
- We are looking for a tech-savvy and scrappy individual who is comfortable with tools, ops, & automation. The goal is to automate as many processes as possible (e.g., Stripe, Pennylane, Budget Reporting, People Budget from Payfit/Silae).
- We need a "generalist" profile—someone sharp, smart, and able to navigate chaos.
The scope of responsibilities is broad, ranging from accounting (which is outsourced), billing projects, P&L reporting, budget forecasts, and tax optimization, among others.
Type of projects
- You will own the P&L Reporting → create the monthly reporting and identify any levers to optimize the revenue and cost structure
- You will build forecasts & budget
- You will support the accounting in the day-to-day
- You will be the Project Manager for ‘Billing’ projects → be the main point of contact for all billing projects with our - Sales, Data, Tech, Customer Support and Ops teams. A couple of examples:
- Manage payment and renewal of our bigger contracts with our Sales Teams
- Collaborate on pricing & discount integrations or fraud prevention with our Tech Team
- Optimize payment processing fees
- You will also support C-level in other Finance activities such as tax optimization, M&A (if any), compensation mechanisms, etc.
Key Results
Within 3 months, you will:
- Review all primary financial processes (order to cash, procure to pay) and establish a roadmap for finance activities
- Has taken over reporting responsibilities: ARR, P&L report, Ebitda to Cash
- Activate quick wins to optimize revenues & costs
- Set up a closing process with monthly closing in collaboration with our external accountant
- Get a clear understanding our finance dashboard, tools, processes and automation
- Take ownership on payment & renewal process for bigger contracts from Sales
- Pilot your first ‘billing’ case as Project Manager, in collaboration with other teams (Sales, Tech, Data, Ops, Customer Support)
- Ensure a complete handover with our external part-time CFO
Within 12 months, you will:
- Fully manage all aspects of finance: from accounting (with external accountant support), corporate and legal
- Master our toolstack (especially Pennylane and Stripe) and be able to reconcile MRR and Cash with Revenues
- Automate processes wherever possible to keep the Finance team lean
- Completely own the budgeting activity (creation & monitoring)
- Optimize all ‘billing’ projects’ incl. payment processing fees, fraud prevention measures, pricing integrations, Sales CPQ process.
- Make concrete proposals to improve the cost structure
- Assist on additional topics such as tax optimization, M&A, or incentive plans

Preferred experience
- 3-4+ years of Experience, with experience in Transaction Services and/ or in Finance in a fast-growing company
- Detail-oriented, highly analytical & rigorous
- Good understanding of finance and accounting principles
- Strong financial modelling skills - skilled in SQL is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in Finance Ops / HR Ops with ability to automate and streamline processes
- Doer with a "get things done" mindset—pragmatic and results-driven. You are a hard worker and ready to roll up your sleeves
- A proactive, autonomous individual with excellent organizational skills
- Energetic, dynamic, and ready to take on challenges
- Perfectly fluent in French and English
