Our story
Malt is the story of two visionary entrepreneurs, equally passionate about the latest tech trends and developments in the digital world, joining forces to spark rapid innovation.
Before becoming the CEO and CTO of Malt, respectively, Vincent Huguet, a successful e-commerce startup founder, and Hugo Lassiège, a freelance developer met in 2012 to discuss a problem faced by practically every company in existence today : The challenge of finding expert freelancers to propel their projects forward with speed, agility, and efficiency.
A year later, in 2013, Malt was born. Today, with Alexandre Fretti and Vincent Huguet as Co-Ceos, Malt is home to over 700,000 freelancers and over 70,000 registered companies across Europe.

We’re more than just a connector. Our marketplace streamlines freelancer-client communications, simplifies administrative and legal tasks, expedites invoicing and payments, and so much more. It’s all about giving both freelancers and companies choice and added peace of mind so that every experience on Malt is nothing less than (inter)stellar. The launch of Malt Strategy, in 2023, enables Malt to broaden its scope, by offering the expertise of its network of top independent consultants and transition managers, to better support companies from strategy to the implementation of ambitious projects.
